School workshops

Invite a special events coordinator to meet with your group before or after the show.

The coordinator will present different aspects involved in creating the show and enable students to make the most of their experience at the theatre.

Length

Workshops are 50 to 70 minutes long, and are tailored to the needs and ages of each group.

Place

The special events coordinator can go to your school or you can come to us.

Content

We spare no effort in offering a custom-designed workshop on the show you choose!

The workshop may focus on:

- how the show was created;
- the performance of the actors;
- the story;
- the theatre-going ritual;
- the role of the young audience;
- theatrical language.

Of course our primary source of inspiration is the show itself.

The activity is well-documented, paced and interspersed with theatre-related games that can easily fit in with the program at your school.

Info-théâtre

INFO-THEÂTRE is a telephone support service for educators in the pre-school and school environments who want to make their trip to the theatre as enriching as possible for the children!

You may have questions about how to coach children who will be attending a show, what to say before the performance, and how to discuss the experience after.

You may want to choose the ideal show for your students.

You can discuss these questions and many others with a specialist trained in theatre arts education.

Our specialist can consult with you and help you choose the show that best meets your expectations and objectives for your group.

He or she can suggest simple activities to do in class, so that your students get the most out of their experience, or help you link your trip to Maison Théâtre with an educational activity that is important to you.

Sometimes a show can take you by surprise or draw strong reactions from your students; you may not know how to answer all their questions. By simply calling INFO-THÉÂTRE, you can obtain the tools you need to enhance your appreciation activity.
